Overview

Stackjack is solitaire with a blackjack twist. You build stacks of cards that add up to exactly 21, and you try to make as many 21s as you can before the deck runs out.

How it plays

Cards come off the deck one at a time, and you choose which of your four stacks each one goes on. Hit 21 exactly and the stack clears for points. Go over and the stack busts. The game ends when the deck is empty or you've busted too many times.

What makes it fun

  • Every card is a decision. There's no waiting around. Each card makes you weigh safe play against greed.
  • Aces keep you guessing. An ace counts as 1 or 11, which can rescue a stack or set up a perfect 21.
  • Short, tense rounds. A full deck takes about five minutes, so it's easy to play just one more.

How to play

  1. Look at the next card at the top of the deck.
  2. Place it on one of your four stacks, keeping each stack's total in mind.
  3. Make a stack total exactly 21 to clear it and score.
  4. Avoid going over 21. Busting too many times ends the run.

Controls

  • Touch: tap a stack to place the next card on it
  • Mouse / keyboard: click a stack, or press 1–4

Tip: Keep one stack low as an escape hatch for the big cards you can't place anywhere else.
